The original link is back up. I’ve worked with the team that Beard Halloween Smile shirt and develops the LDS.org website and they didn’t have a way of easily removing articles. Those articles are batch processed XML files on a marklogic server. The LDS site dynamically transforms those XML documents into html. What you saw was probably a server glitch at the time, probably from not having enough resources to accommodate the sudden demand for that document.
