I am familiar with those ‘sea grapes’ as well. These aren’t edible to us but they do grow along the Pink flamingo and parrot tropical shirt and help prevent erosion. They are quite salt/ drought tolerant and extremely common on/ near the beaches in south Florida. I found the fungi growing in the sand near the trees right on the beach.
