Yup. There are several coral farms here. After Maria they went around and collected fragments of Star Trek Discovery Starfleet Delta Emblem Graphic shirt and hung it up on PVC “trees”. It’s amazing how fast it grows! When it gets big enough they’re replanting it on the rocks using cement. Elkhorn and staghorn corals used to be abundant here but what’s thought to have been a viral infection killed almost all of them in the late ‘80’s. They’re slowly making a comeback and I hope the culturing if the fragment accelerates that process.“They” are mostly volunteers with the Nature Consevancy.
