Oh yes, and when they get dementia (like my late mom had), often the Christmas Merry Woofmas dog tree shirt and the best and worst of their true natures come out. Luckily, Mom was nice to everyone, even when she’d have some of her really bad moments including those of severe emotional agitation. She seemed to have developed more of a sense of humor, too. She’d sometimes say inappropriate things, but not mean-spirited like some other of the residents I’d seen.
