When the Constitution was written — like when they created the electoral college — they also thought slavery was OK, that women shouldn’t vote, and you, Mr. Educated, couldn’t vote directly for your Senator (state legislatures elected the Senators from each state until 1913. Then 17th Amendment changed the voting for Senators from legislatures to directly by the citizens). Like all those things (slavery, women not voting, Senate), the electoral college should also be changed.
