The issue is that it’s more an obsolete body, if it were a straight up popularity vote where the electoral college designated the delegates based on the percentage so California has 55 delegates right? Therefore say that candidate 1 gets 60% of the vote, then 33 of those delegates go to candidate 1 and the rest go to the others depending on the percentages. Still very inefficient but it’s an improvement nonetheless.
