In the winter I can go snowshoeing, cross country skiing and downhill skiing and perhaps throw in a HOT Damn Righ I Am A 49ers Fan Now And Forever T Shirt ice fishing. I’m not a hunter, but those who hunt will find deer and bear up the wazoo along with wild turkey, quail, pheasant, rabbit, coyote and many other game species. If you can’t bag game in New Jersey, then you aren’t a very good hunter. On the downside there is the traffic. It can be bad, but nowhere nearly as bad as some other places in the US where I have lived and traveled (hello Washington DC area and LA!). Taxes and cost of living are high. I’m paying $1,100 a month in rent for a tiny (700 sq ft.) log cabin that doesn’t have a single closet. It is also miles from any mass transit and the nearest supermarket. In may other states I can have quite a nice house for that money. It costs LOT to live in NJ.

My niece hasn’t responded since September, despite me using three different mediums (SMS, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger). My brother responds once every couple weeks but never actually answers the Sorry I Cant My Cat Needs Me Unique Shirt. Today I threw my hands up and bought my niece’s partner an Xbox gift card (which I think is what he asked for last year) and my nephew and partner a gift card where they can choose their own experience. Hopefully they can sell the gift cards if they wouldn’t use them. I was hoping to get them something more personal, but hell, I’ve been asking for ideas for three months. With a week to go till Christmas – we’re going down on the 19th – I was getting desperate. Aside from that, this year has been…strange. I no longer buy for my father and stepmother and sisters: it seems too odd and unbalanced to be working myself to the bone to pay my mom’s bills, when my dad and sisters all have money, and then going without so I can buy them gifts. And I don’t currently have any friends – I’ve lost them all in the last year – so no expenses there, either.
