The electoral college was created to prevent an unqualified populist from becoming president which it failed to do. It can no longer do what the founding fathers intended. Since it’s sole responsibility was to prevent a guy like Trump from becoming president and Hi Neithbor Shoes Blue White shirt, then it no longer serves any purpose. The main problem with the polling is that they try to target “likely voters” and often people will respond with who they would vote for, but they don’t actually vote.
